Lunacelestia: the myth of moon ceremony
Join us for this full moon tea ceremony as we drift between myth and mindfulness. Under winter’s final full moon glow, we’ll gather at Rose City Coffee to brew and explore Camellia sinensis. Like water drawn by the moon’s pull, this tea will guide us through the lunar intentions of stillness and clarity, honoring the unseen tides within and around us all.
To foster an inclusive and supportive community, we are offering a flexible payment model for this immersive tea class. You can choose between $35 or $25, depending on what you can afford. Your generosity helps make this experience accessible to all, contributing to a circle of support that values fairness and inclusion.
We also recognize the historical and systemic barriers that often limit access to BIPOC communities. To help bridge this gap, we are offering a $15 pricing option exclusively for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This tier is available as a way to ensure that cost is not a barrier for those who would otherwise be unable to participate. This is one small attempt to acknowledge the systemic inequities, ensuring that those who have been historically excluded from such spaces can participate, connect, and further diversify all communities.
We trust you to choose the option that feels right for you.
This class is guided by D’Guar Herrera. D’Guar (they/them) is a devoted student of tea based in Portland, Oregon. Their journey with tea began with a search for deeper purpose and connection. Tea found them, offering secrets, mysteries, stories, and spells. Through tea, D’Guar has discovered a profound depth of self, rooted in a mindful devotion to the leaf and a love of sharing this passion with others. Coming from generations of ancestors who stewarded the gifts of the land and listened to the earth’s heartbeat, D’Guar believes that reconnecting with nature through tea is not only vital but also a way to build community and honor the earth.
