Divination: The Myth of White Tea Workshop
The Myth & Magic of White Tea
This month, we turn our attention to white tea—a style that captures the raw essence of the tea leaf in its most natural form. With only the lightest touch of processing and a whisper of oxidation, white tea preserves the leaf’s true character, offering a cup that evolves with every sip. At times it’s as delicate and fresh as spring blossoms, at others as honeyed and grounding as autumn orchards with notes of dried fruit, herbs, and warm earth.
Through mindful brewing and tasting, we’ll explore white tea’s versatility—how it mirrors the simple rhythms of nature and reflects tea’s profound ability to calm, center, and restore.
A Circle of Support
To ensure this experience is welcoming and accessible, we offer a flexible payment model:
-
$35 or $25, depending on what you can afford.
-
A $15 tier is also available exclusively for BIPOC participants, as one small way to acknowledge systemic inequities and ensure access for those historically excluded.
Your contribution not only supports inclusivity, but helps foster a community built on fairness, generosity, and connection.
Guided by D’Guar Herrera
This class is led by D’Guar Herrera (they/them), a devoted student of tea based in Portland. D’Guar’s journey began with a search for deeper meaning, and tea answered—offering mysteries, stories, and spells that grew into a lifelong devotion. Rooted in a lineage of land stewards and earth listeners, D’Guar shares tea as a way to reconnect with nature, heal together, and build resilient communities.
Giving Back
In the same spirit of care, $5 from each participant will be donated to Q Center, a nonprofit uplifting LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through resources, advocacy, and safe gathering spaces.
Just as tea invites us into reflection, presence, and belonging, Q Center holds space for healing and thriving together.
✨ Come sip, reflect, and connect—with yourself, with nature, and with community.
