Tea of the Month for November: Apple Pie

New Avenues for Youth meet youth where they are and help them get where they want to go! Join us to prevent and end youth homelessness.

Novembers’ arrival in the Northwest marks the time when we begin to prepare for the winter months, the holidays to come, and focus to get ourselves to the end of the year.

We picked Apple Pie to be our Tea of the Month to celebrate the harvesting season of apples, and all the treats we create in the kitchen during the month of November. Along with Apple Pie tea, we have picked the 20-year-old program, New Avenues for Youth to be our program this month.

New Avenues for Youth is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness. This program has serviced more than 20,000 young people. We will talk more about this program during the month but you can check them out at  https://newavenues.org/

In November 2020, your purchase of Apple Pie tea will directly help these youngsters.

So here’s the deal…

The shelters and drop in centers for support are running at half capacity because of COVID regulations. There will be more kids out in the cold and they will need your help! We have established 10 donation sites around Portland and we are asking for help to keep these kids warm.

We are looking for items such as socks, gloves, hats, large coats, sweatshirts for layering and basic hygiene products including feminine products.
