She has made a bouncy career of writing books for children, including picture books, poetry, biographies, and early readers. Poetry for adults—a more recent whirl—has appeared in The Gold Man Review, VoiceCatcher, and Abandoned Mine, and she was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her desk looks out over a stretch of the Columbia River on the far side of the Cascades.\n
